Claire is a Class A member of the PGA. She has been
instructing golf since 1987 and served as the head
women's golf coach at the University of Toledo (OH)
for nine seasons.

Claire played collegiate golf at Bowling Green State
University (OH). She competed professionally on
the Florida Mini Tours where she won the 1994
Central Florida Team Championship. Claire also
competed in the 1993 LPGA Jamie Farr Kroger
Classic. In 2004, Claire was inducted into the Lorain
County (OH) Sports Hall of Fame.

Assistant PGA Teaching Professional
Mark is the Head Boys Golf Coach in the Spring and the Head Girls Golf Coach in the
Fall at Bedford High School. The girls team have reached the STATE Finals seven
years in a row. Mark is also the Head Boys Golf. In the fall of 2006, the Boys Golf
Team reached the STATE Finals for the first time in 20 years and ranked 11th in the
State of Michigan!!! The team has reached the State Finals three more years and their
best finish in 2010 placing 4th in the state and produced the Individual MHSAA State
Champion, Nate Gonring.
Mark’s teaching style is simple and compliments the styles of Claire Batista. He strives
off building lasting relationships with all of his clients that leads to great results; one
on one instruction, high speed video analysis and the use of training aids enhances the
learning experience.
Mark is a Class A Member of the PGA (Professional Golf Association) Michigan
Section, an active member of MIGCA (Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches
Association), and USGA (United States Golf Association). He has been teaching golf
for over 14 years professionally at Bedford Hills Golf Club and is thrilled to be working
at The Claire Batista Golf Academy.
Mark is married to Suzanne, who directs and choreographs for the High School plays &
musicals and she is a professor of Theatre & Dance at Adrian College and Siena
Heights. Children; Chelsea an Eastern Michigan Student and Kyle a 12th grader at
BHS.
